An election where you either disliked both candidates, or were unenthused about both candidates enough to stay home?

If so, what election was it?

Nope. I’ve considered doing it this year, but the stakes are too high even though I live in a safe state.

I didn't vote in 2016. I voted third party in 2020, and I'm unlikely to vote this year.

I've voted in all elections for which I was eligible except for the primary in 2018 since I was turning 18 by November I was eligible but thought it would be a pain since I was still 17 on election day.

Never skipped a general, but I did skip the primaries this year.

I'm considering it for this one, but I probably will end up voting anyway.

No. I wasn't old enough in 2016, and I did vote in 2020. I will vote this year.

I believe I have NEVER skipped a state run election I was eligible to vote in, and that includes a primary in my beyond Titanium Safe D State Senate seat for a special election in which the DFL nominee was running unopposed.

I say "state run" because I did not participate in the presidential caucus that year because I really wasn't big on any candidate and just going against Bush, plus Kerry had locked up the nomination anyway. So getting to the caucus would've been kind of an unnecessary hindrence for a college student and I didn't bother. But that was a caucus alongside a "firehouse primary" completely ran by the party, no state involvement.

The other election related event I skipped I was eligible to participate in was the 2022 MN-05 convention which I automatically qualified for as a state delegate but I didn't want to vote for either Omar or Don Samuels or spend a weekend morning in a hot and sweaty gymnasium to vote "uncommitted".

No, the only elections I missed were regional elections in 2015, and that was largely due to having recently moved.

Of course not.

I have skipped a few municipal elections, notably in 2019 (when I got mixed up about polling place locations) and 2023 (where all of the candidates were terrible NIMBYs who were guaranteed to win). North Carolina can also have statewide runoffs for kind of irrelevant positions, so it's possible I've missed one or two of those. I do generally vote in elections that matter however.

I've been able to vote since 1981.  Haven't voted in a Presidential election since 2000.  Only vote for local offices/referendums...

Not am American, but since turning 18 in 2009, I never missed a single election or referendum. On either level: EU, national, state and local. I even remember that I was frustrated over reaching voting age ten days after the 2009 federal election because I wanted to vote SPD.

I'm turning 60 later this year, and here have been ten presidential elections that I could have voted in. But I have only voted in six elections; the four I didn't vote were 1984, 2004, 2008, and 2012.
When I was 20, I just wasn't interested in politics yet. In Dec. 2002, I resolved to never vote again for the rest of my life. That was because of how disgusted I was with the Bush v. Gore decision.

Obviously not American, but like most here, unsurprisingly, I’ve voted in every election I’ve been eligible for, including as a student when there were local elections on the same day in both my university and home councils (voted for the former in person and the latter by post).

RN, I feel I'm going to probably write in a candidate for the first time instead of actually vote. Maybe Bill Clinton as a write-in, or if someone could point me in the direction of a Clintonite moderate who'd be eligible to run for President I'd do that.

Joe Biden was a "Clintonite moderate". He was literally a Delaware Democrat first elected in the Nixon years. The party has changed; it's not 1992 anymore. That said, Jeff Jackson would be a decent pick if you want a moderate unifier Democrat whose name is not Joe Biden to write in. I'd also consider writing in if I lived in a safe state, but unless North Carolina suddenly starts voting like this, I don't have such luxuries like you do in New York.

Yehah I live in Brooklyn which has gone Dem since I believe like 1968...So, my vote is literally nothing lol. And yeah I know Joe was a moderate, but he's changed sadly. He pushes all the racialist crap and I don't go for division.

Dude, he literally wrote the crime bill. He's been pushing "racialist crap", whatever that means. He works with the party; that's what Presidents do. Your beloved Obama and Clinton both did it.
