Of course, though it definitely reduces the likelihood.

No. Trump is that bad. You could maybe make the argument that good people can support Trump before January 6th, but not after that.

It is impossible to be a good person and support the man who tried to overthrow the government, overturn an election, and remain in power. Impossible. Good people don't support that. Good people aren't willing to overlook that.

If you are a Republican, especially one who used to opposed Trump, no. If you are not a Republican but hate Biden, yes.

Yes, people with low intellect and/or low wisdom are capable of being good.

Back in 2016, there were many people who voted for Trump even though they thought he was unqualified/dishonest/untrustworthy/temperamentally unsuited etc. The main reason these people voted for Trump was because they were desperate for change, and they thought Trump would be the one to bring about such change. This year, such people probably still exist, albeit in much smaller numbers.

Yes, and they’re not necessarily stupid either. Too many people are just appallingly ignorant and misinformed.

It's been almost a decade since Trump has been a fixture in our national politics. People have had more than enough time to inform themselves of who he is. It's not like he keeps what kind of a person he is a secret either.

Well, Trump at least talked about protectionism and maybe some people put their hopes on that he would "bring back the jobs". Now the Dems are pro pro tariff, but the GOP Hawley types are here to stay too.

I don't know for sure on the question, but I can say definitively that anyone who votes for Trump is a bad American. Our democracy is a fundamental part of what it is to be "American" and Trump is actively opposed to it.

Mostly no, unless the voter is completely and totally uninformed and has not taken the time to research. I might be able to see a willingly blissful ignoramus saying they just voted for the “successful businessman”.

(Of course, ten minutes worth of research proves that this charlatan was an abject failure in business. To say nothing of his moral, ethical, patriotic, or competency failures. Which are almost infinite.)

I'd be interested in hearing an explanation as to how someone could support a fascist dictatorship and still be a good person.

Not everyone who supports Trump supports a fascist dictatorship and Trump winning wont turn us into one either.

There is no rational basis for assuming otherwise on either front.

Explain how Trump can turn the US into a dictatorship when:

- Elections are managed at a state level not a federal one

- the Electoral Count Reform act pretty much makes it impossible for congress to throw out Electoral votes

- The US Constitution unlike Hungary is almost impossible to change

- There are midterms every two years

At worst Trump's Presidency will be how Netanyahu's premiership from from December 2022- September 2023 was like

He uses the campus protests as a pretext to have a hack DA and DOJ declare the Democratic Party a terrorist organization this making the country a one party state

SCOTUS literally made it even harder than it already was to disqualify candidates for federal office so this is just fearmongering.

This current court and if Trump’s elected the immediate court after will be hackish to find ways around that

The same court that ruled against him time and time again when it came to the 2020 election , voted against the idea of independent state legislatures , voted against Alabama on redistricting.

Again this is nothing but insane fearmongering

The suggestion Trump might declare the Democratic Party a "terrorist organization" is not rooted in reality. I say this as someone who hasn't forgotten him teargassing people for no good reason.

People in 19 and early 20 said the same about the idea he would try to stay in office if he lost the election.
