I like Fetterman and think this is part of his brand, but generally I also believe that lawmakers should dress properly. Doesn't always have to be a suit or even necktie, but I wouldn't even dress in a hoodie as congressional staffer, let alone a senator. However, I'm personally somewhat conservative on dresscodes.

I was actually serious about that I like the African American English accent (as well as Southern/Texan accent, while I dislike Oxford English). I just deleted it because it's not really on topic of the thread. If term itsself was inapproriate for some reason, I honestly didn't know that although I've always been interested in African American culture and history. I mean, there's a reason Johnson is my favorite president.

While Crockett perhaps uses AAVE more heavily than most of her other colleagues, and maybe that is what you were referring to, there is still no such thing as a "black accent" anymore than there is a "white accent." Plus tons of younger white people have also adopted parts of AAVE. There is no such thing as "talking white" or "talking black." I don't think you were being malicious but it was very broad and came off weird.

I'd love to hear how some of you all would react if someone launched a personal attack against you first. Don't pretend as if you wouldn't have a comeback because you would.

The problem is not her coming with a comeback the problem is that she does in the worst possible way. MTG comes with an attack which really translate into her accusing Crockett focusing too much on her appearance and then Crockett comes with a witty comeback worthy of a vapid high school girl. If you come with a comeback you should do it in a way which doesn’t prove their point, which also makes you look good and hurt them. Crockett should have attacked MTG for wasting the publics money on meaningless conflicts with her co-workers.

MTG took it personal and Crockett responded in kind. Plus we don't know exactly how much MTG is saying behind the scenes and that may have resulted in things boiling over. The milquetoast "you're wasting the taxpayers dollars" responses aren't going to cut it anymore.

So if somebody is making personal attacks against you and the committee won't enforce the rules you aren't supposed to say anything back? That's not how the real world works. What is embarrassing is that the House of Representatives is run by hypocrites and morons.

Democrats NOT responding is part of why they don't win elections. Right after Michelle Obama said "when they go low we go high" Trump won the election. It's time to read these people for filth.

Once again, the committee refused to uphold the rules. Moral high ground goes out the window when someone attacks your personal appearance and is not reprimanded for it. Crockett was basically proving a point about the hypocritical way the GOP is running the House.

Maybe, but going the "high road" hasn't really helped the Democrats. MTG definitely deserves to be called out for her BS. Unfortunately the times so far have a changed and Republicans have no desire to actually return to having good faith discussions over issues as it should be and as you should expect from lawmakers (who should actually act as role models).

I like political strategy and I don't think I indicated that he should attack him in a racist campaign, I went by known Trump strategy (which does include mentioning the border a lot, does it not?) and also by what appeals to his supporter. I like the political game. I think Trump is the favorite to win as of right now. I like politically spitballing because it's fun and because I am franly good at it. I could just as easily draw up a strategy for Biden if you'd like?

Also, whether you like it or not, the perception (not statistical fact) of inflation is a problem for Biden.

I've literally voted Democratic in every Presidential election I've been eligible to vote in. I'm not sure what further proof you'd like?
