You need an official voicepiece? You've been doing quite well without one, thus far.

I like doing it this way better. The National Weekly Atlasian (NWA) is now the same thing as Hamilton Paper (HP). Thank you all.

Unlike you I am not a self-centered prick so I decided to step down and hand-pick my own successor.  Like you've stated, it did not change my actual influence in the party one bit.

The irony...

not a self-centered prick...

handpicked my own successor...

did not change my actual influence

So why step down? And if you have such influence, why not just bestow yourself chairman?

I am not going to bestow myself chairman because Duke has a fine job and frankly as a candidate in the next election becoming the chairman again now would be stupid.  It does not affect my influence in the party at all

Perhaps a quick look at numbers could have done that much?

Interview with Northeast Lt. Governor Barnes

Hamilton:   As Lt. Governor, you have played a key role in the development of the Northeast Assembly. How do you feel about the Assembly at this moment?

Barnes: I feel very good about the Assembly, I believe that we have gotten a lot of work done. Also, I'm very excited about the upcoming December elections, they look like they'll be very competitive!

Hamilton: In April 2009, the Democratic Alliance squeaked three candidates in, with Purple State defeating incumbent Lief by less than one vote. Seeing as the DA is a relatively small party, how do you hope to overcome the odds and elect three at-large Senators?

Barnes: Well, I don't believe that the DA is a minor party, we appeal to a wide variety of citizens, and the electorate.

[Editor's note: This publication does not believe that the DA is a minor party and recognizes the large role it plays in Atlasian politics.]

Hamilton: You have been successful as Lt. Governor of the Northeast. What influenced you to "move on" to the Senate?

Barnes: I have really enjoyed my time as Lt. Governor, but I have always been planning to "move up". I always watch the Fantasy Government Board, intently. And I believe that I would love to be a member of that esteemed body.

Hamilton: Do you feel that the right decision was made by the Supreme Court regarding the Rowan Brandon case?

Barnes: I believe that the Supreme Court was right in opening a new case. Only time will tell about their decision.

Hamilton: Will you fight for the retainment of regional Senate seats if elected?

Barnes: I will fight for continued regional representation.

Hamilton: You have had no problems working with controversial figures such as Marokai Blue or Alexander Hamilton, while others have. How do you feel you maintain these good relationships with such a wide array of Atlasians?

Barnes: They are both nice people. I don't try to be blinded by their party allegiance, like some are, and talk to them as simply friends.

Hamilton: In the October Senate and Presidential elections that just occurred, what outcomes surprised you the most?

Barnes: I think what surprised me the most, was the drop-out of MasterJedi. That truly was a shocker, and brought a much enjoyed "twist" to the election.

This concludes our interview with Lt. Governor Barnes. The Hamilton Weekly Atlasian wishes him luck in his Senatorial bid.

How so? If I refer to the ARC as a major party, the larger and much more prominent DA certainly is.

Why.

Barnes just earned the second preferences of almost everyone in the PCP if he truly means that he supports Regional Senate seats.

Just a quick note, Hamilton, unless SPC has given you permission, your hijacking of his newspaper's HQ is unethical.

Amendment Aimed at Ending Regional Seats Currently Failing

Seeing the support for ending regional representation fading, advocates have entered a backhanded approach amendment that would decrease the number of regions required to pass an amendment.  The measure which would presumably make it easier to pass the controversial amendment that spawned the creation of the RPP.

However, at current moment thanks to the vote of GM3 in the Northeast, the amendment is currently failing in 2 regions.  While the Northeast remains a tight battle, the amendment is all but assured to fail in the Dirty South.  Prominent supporters of the amendment include President Lief and former VP Jas while Fmr. Pres. Bgwah and Fmr. Sen. DWTL, as well as the majority of the RPP, have come out against it.
