Judging from his hospitalization a couple of years ago that very little information was given about I think it's likely he isn't in the best of health and he wants to keep it very secret. Even the court going back to just 5-4 conservative wouldn't be ideal for the right-wing so there is immense pressure on him to stay on.

I don't wish him harm, but I can't say I wouldn't welcome his retirement as long as Democrats have the senate and Biden is president.

1) I hope he is okay. Despite disagreeing with him on literally everything, I wouldn't wish harm on anyone just because I disagree with their legal views.
