MASSIVE, MASSIVE FF, one of America's greatest politicians and also a really great person, probably tied with Bloomberg and Buttigieg for the best 2020 Democratic candidate.

Honestly he should have stayed as mayor. The only reason he became senator is he thought you had to climb the ladder to become a viable president, which buttigieg proved wrong. Everything that made him charming as a mayor seemed fake in the senate.

By the standards of American inner-city politicians (or for that matter by the standards of Democratic Senators), a pretty big FF. I was relatively high on his presidential campaign in 2020, since I thought that in the absence of Biden he was probably the best-positioned person to inherit Biden's supporters. Obviously Biden went on to both run (which was unclear) and never deflate (which was unclear as late as summer 2019), but I do think Booker remains relatively well-positioned to contest being the establishment Democratic presidential candidate the next time there is an open field, though Harris now has the advantage of being "next in line", so to speak.

He's ok I guess? Like, not really my type of politician but he's been on the right side of issues generally and hasn't been as obnoxious as one might have feared.

Overall a FF. I think his campaigning style is far too emotional though. I always think of "Tears of Rage" when I think of Booker, and I think his whole 2020 campaign centered around "love" was just kind of corny.

Neutral.

I found his pandering to Ketanji Brown Jackson during her nomination hearings to be nauseating.  But not as nauseating as her recent assault from the Bench against the First Amendment, which is SUPPOSED to hamstring government from limiting the speech of individuals.  He could be worse, however.  He is, for the most part, who he said he'd be, so I'm not going to complain about him.  He's not Gold Brick Bob Menendez, and that's a good thing.
