What is toxic femininity to you?

Expecting all the benefits of gender equality, without any of the corresponding burdens that implies. A distinct lack of introspection when a relationship fails, and then complaining about "where all the good men have gone." Encouraging and supporting sexual violence against other women when the victim in question belongs to a group that they don't like.

Anorexia in women is a good example of how femininity has the potential to hurt people.

Obsession with matching narrow beauty standards and seeing one's value as determined by looks, competitiveness with other women on that basis, passive aggression, emotional blackmail, lack of self-confidence, lack of ambition, playing dumb to flatter others (typically men's) egos, and a bunch more related tropes in no particular order. Just watch Mean Girls tbh, that pretty much covers the whole gamut.

Toxic feminity is Girl-on-Girl hate, not whatever most MRA's think it is.

Toxic Femininity is essentially the 'benevolent patriarchy'; Most radfems are 'feminists' who nevertheless rely on the trope of being 'different' and requiring 'protection' from men (and appealing to men to intervene)

Also I've been amazed at some of my female friends openly admitting they manipulate their relationship with men to get what they want. That 'moods' can be both fake and transactional. That's something everyone can do, but it doesn't really get talked about.

One trend I've noticed with a lot of younger women I find quite toxic are "icks". An "ick" is basically a turnoff - the issue is people find everything to be an ick and don't try to compromise. Example from the other month; a girl in my dorm hall really liked this guy and got me and a few others to help her connect with that guy. Then one day she's no longer interested because she saw him wearing white pants and somehow that was an "ick".

There's a difference between fundamental incapability and not liking the shoes someone is wearing. I think women often let perfect be the enemy of the good - guys do this too but it's more commonly women from my experience.
