I was curious enough to go googling, and apparently it's the King James Version with patriotic wrapping on the cover. As someone raised Southern Baptist, this is deeply embarrassing.

It might be one of Trump's biggest accomplishments that he convinced a sizeable numbers of self-described Christians to endorse his personal behavior and many of his policies. Hypocrisy would be a major understatement.

As a Christian, I find this incredibly disturbing.

Is the logical endpoint of the MAGA movement (and American Christianity) a full-blown devolution into apocalyptic messianism with Trump as the Second Coming? I can honestly imagine cults existing in rural Appalachia 100+ years from now exalting him as a Christlike figure given the trajectory we're on.

This is already happening. Some people are lementing that Jesus wasn't tough like Trump. Whenever he eventually dies, things are going to be even more bizarre.

Evangelical Christianity has been nothing but apocalyptic messianism for decades now, just without a specific political figure for them to worship. I can't emphasize enough just how little they've changed post-Trump, other than that they're worshiping a particularly pathetic man at the moment.
