Toronto cops are notoriously terrible.

Despite the incident of them being uniquely stupid that was mentioned by the OP, overall, I actually wouldn't say so.

Toronto police are surprisingly good at solving crimes, particularly homicides. They have one of the highest homicide clearance rates (aka percentage of crimes solved) in North America - ranging from 70 to 80 percent depending on the year. Which is probably why Toronto has one of the lowest homicide rates in North America.

Yeah, if you compare them to American cops, of course they're going to look good.

Even compared to Canadian cops. Homicide clearance rate Canada wide is 67%. 80% is really good.
