Haley getting nearly 25% of the vote in Sarasota County. Biden will win some of these anti-Trump voters.

Sarasota is also one of the few FL retiree counties where you have some genuinely liberal pockets of white seniors.

Interesting LaRose overperformance in Appalachian Ohio. In the 2022 Senate Primary this was also quite establishment friendly. Vance won it but Jane Timken, chair of the OH GOP, performed best here.

It's General elections for the mayoralships. Local Governments aren't obligated to follow state/federal election schedules.

I knew that would be a bad idea.

Biden needs to think twice about investing here. No matter how lost Florida seems, it's always worse.

TBH this is just people jumping on the anti-FlaDems bandwagon. They don't do much right but these races are local nonpartisan races that wouldn't necessarily be won by Dems even if they held a primary.

Dems picked up some seats too despite it.

Local elections are often not held in November. Apparently a bunch were conducted today since it was convenient given the Presidential Primary but the turnout was like 80% GOP so local election shifted 40 points.

Wait, so they cancelled the primary for everyone? How does that work? How are the congressional nominees, etc. decided? I thought they just cancelled it on the presidential end.

KS is actually a relatively college-educated state. That might play a role in it. Lots of college degree holders in the KC suburbs.

They cancelled the presidential primary because Biden was the only one who filed.
The other primaries are held on another date.

FL holds the congressional primaries in late August. Most states will hold the congressional primaries at their usual dates but some will coincide them.

The other primaries are held on another date.

The reports of the Florida Democratic Party coming back to life were greatly exaggerated.

I disagree. I think we should wait until August and November to reserve a final verdict on the party under Fried.

Seems Trump's margin in Miami Dade was several points better than statewide.

80-14 statewide.

87-11 Miami Dade.

Not much of a protest vote in Chicago at the moment. Biden is hovering around 90% there right now.

Sounds about right.

Chicago is not Portland or SF.
