So many far-left people have considered Biden as genocider.
Now hr'll be considered also as dictator.

If it actually gets banned, then yes.

A lot of people seem to be missing the point that was said on the last page.... this bill doesn't ban TikTok. It will still exist; it will just be owned by a different entity

If you have to ask, yes. Just the notion that he wants to ban it being out there, especially now that Trump has come out against it, is already hurting him, which is a shame after his very good SOTU. It'll get worse when the bill passes and he signs it. At that point, people will start to realize the "divestment" off ramp is not as simple as it may seem.

I think people haven't fully internalized that when the House votes (Johnson's been signaling next week) this is going to be one of those 350-75 or so landslide bills. Basically every Republican you can think of has signed on. Katie Britt bashed Biden for not being quicker on banning TikTok in the State of the Union response.

Final vote total 352-65. 15 R nos and 50 D nos.

Just saying sometimes I know what I'm talking about...

Housing mortgage rates and prices matter more, but yes Biden sounds insanely out of touch.
That’s the thing. Why can congress pass a Tik tok ban so easily while they can’t fix mortgage and housing problems as easily... it comes off as totally out of touch.

No, the Polls despite Rassy and his Riverwalk fam base of Trump plus 10, it's a 303 D map and it's gonna come down to AZ, Trump cannot win without AZ but Biden can win AZ and it's 290 plus GA is a wave insurance seat

It bans it in 6 months if they don't sell and no one knows what will happen there.

You'd have to be delusional to think that banning TikTok WOULDN'T impact his prospects with younger voters.

Yes, but there is no bill banning TikTok likely to come to his desk.

If the bill is actually passed, they will sell. They aren't going to just shut it down and eat the lost revenue. I'm sure TikTok US is worth at least tens of billions. I'd be really surprised if it is banned and actually ceases to exist in the US.

Yes, for many it's going to be a loss of their livelihood as they see it.

They will try to sell, but Xi won't let them. Therefore, it'll be banned. I would be ecstatic to be proven wrong, but currently no indication. It's disgusting that whether Americans can use TikTok will ultimately come down to Xi f----g Jinping's approval. This bill is really going to come down to the US govt and Chinese govt teaming up to censor Americans. An unholy alliance of our own authoritarian tendencies and China's.

And to top it all off, it might just be enough to push a third authoritarian, Trump, over the top. Triple win for authoritarianism.

I feel the impact will be only really be felt once TikTok goes offline in the US.

There are a lot of small businesses that legitimately benefit from the TikTok store, being able to sell their products from viral videos. So this is a lot more than people not being able to watch dumb videos, there are a lot of stakeholders here.  I can already imagine the ads of small business owners crying about how they will shut down once TikTok is banned.

Would be funny if Trump decided to unban it in 2025.

Yes, these ecelebs and small businesses will not take kindly to having their livelihoods threatened. Politics is ultimately feelings about economics expressed assertively.

I believe it would hurt him, although it's unclear how much of an impact this would have considering that many of them are likely to subscribe to the "Joe abetted a genocide" narrative.

This is the exact same school of thought that warned about Kanye West stealing the youth vote back in 2020.

The Senate should sit on the bill until June so they can pass it to where the six month clause doesn't go into effect until after the election
