I think this is an obvious Yes. If you'd woken up in a coma for the first time in a decade and watched Biden's speech, you'd think it was decent, but nothing special. But the reason everyone is giving it an A is because Republicans promised us a guy with no energy who couldn't string sentences together or do any kind of riffing.

Somewhat? I feel like we had this conversation back in 2020 too though. There is only one other pre-rehearsed mass speech Biden will give though until the election and that will be at Chicago in August. I think Biden is pretty good at giving a speech if he has time to prepare but he struggles significantly when put on the spot. If he can bring his 2012 self back to the debates he will probably win.

Keep in mind the alternative to Biden is a convicted sex abuser facing 91 criminal charges who also tried to overthrow our free and fair election. I wouldn't just assume Trump is going to walk to an easy victory because Biden is old and has low approvals.

No. 85% of the nation — including a majority of his own voters  — think he's far too old to be an effective president

Americans have eyes.

And their eyes showed them last night how much Republicans have been lying about Biden's fitness.

Most of the MAGA crowd at the SOTU, MTG in particular looked pretty pis*ed! Biden wasn't following the script they had pretty much suggested he would! Trump in particular must be fuming at how Biden basically threw him under the bus over the immigration bill shenanigans, and one thing Trump doesn't like is getting the shaft! Also I think Biden should give a few Oval Office addresses pretty much destroying Trump's narrative! Also I'm one of those Haley voter's that Trump claims are closet Democrats, I'll lend my vote to Biden, but support Ted Cruz for Senate. After that clown 🤡 scuttled the immigration bill, and calling Nikki Haley what he called her as well as dissing her husband who is serving overseas, this coming from a lifelong grifter who used some spurs excuse to not serve in Vietnam. So Trump I won't be voting for your phony butt and I'm gonna try and convince others to either abstain on Trump vs. Biden or vote for Biden.

No. Most of them are assuming the economy will improve when it has been getting worse in the last few months and will continue to do so.

Probably. But it might actually help Biden's narrative if he constantly exceeds expectations.

Biden has consistently been underestimated since the 2020 primaries.

He was way overestimated in the 2020 general and likely will be this time around again.

Unemployment went up by 0.2% and will probably continue going up.

SAT words aren't an argument. But if you're just going to pretentiously dismiss my point, at least use words you actually know. Exult makes no sense in this context, I'm guessing you meant exalt

Yes, and this is exactly what the Bernie Bros did. I remember one of their propagandists suggesting that Biden would be unable to speak in complete sentences in his one-on-one debate with Bernie.

The answer is yes, they're too confident - but their confidence contributes to Trump's momentum and could become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Yes. I’m not even a Biden fan and I can safely say the man is the most underestimated person in modern American politics, as he has been for decades
