Trump fundamentally does not like most of his voters. He wouldn't survive a week if he were forced to live in rural Mississippi. How he managed to cultivate a working class hero, populist everyman image is one of the greatest political mysteries of all time.

I sometimes wonder how much of all this is just part of a big psyop.

Just as an addendum to my other post--I saw this image going around on Twitter and I think this sums up the mentality of the median Trump voter pretty well:

Most of these guys don't care about policy. They just want somebody to express their grievances.
For them Trump's appeal is that he is a force of destruction which will upend the hated status quo.
Just like that lady from Florida back in 2018 who complained that Trump wasn't hurting the "people he was supposed to hurt" (women, liberals, people of colour, etc.).

It’s people like this I’m not gonna feel sympathetic for if Trump wins and he does something they dislike.

Same how I don’t feel much sympathy for rural MAGAs who keep voting for Rs who want to kill their local public schools, then cry about how their schools are defunded (TX, OK, KS, IA, possibly NC soon, ect). After a certain point you have to take responsibility for the consequences of your vote.

What an ignorant moron.
He says in the video he likes trump because trump is a "gangster."
And you can tell he has been brainwashed as a member of The Cult when he says Biden is "sleepy."
Fool.

Some of yall may not like this, but here it goes:

Trump lives like many a poor man's idea of a rich man:

He lives in a gold plated penthouse, marries trophy wives and has flings with models and porn stars, tells people to shove off because he is his own boss and accountable to no one, flies around in a big jet with his name on it....

He embodies a fantasy of wealth that is very powerful to working class people. Those who are actually wealthy, educated and well connected know that it's all a big tacky performance.

Yep, 100%. He cartoonishly embodies the ostentatious excess of opulence that has become synonymous with America in the 80's. People aspire to live like him and think that they could if not for those damn meddling immigrants.

A surprisingly large number of those 'people' are immigrants themselves, incidentally; for better or worse this attitude actually draws many people to the United States.

Trump comes across as strong and masculine while Biden comes across as weak and dithering. Some people will vote on that and nothing else. It's all vibes. You can't fix this.

This is how partisanship breaks your brain. She lists all these reasons not to vote for Trump but then just says "But I can't vote for Biden" without giving any reasons.

What exactly do you object to? I get that you have an aversion to anything other than "Biden will win easily and everything is sunshine and rainbows" but what exactly am I wrong about? Leave your DC bubble and talk to normal people, you'll be surprised.

I desperately wish that we had the Joe Biden from ten years ago. He would be up at least 5 points right now.. But we are stuck with a visibly decaying man and Trump, while not much younger, is viewed as energetic. You can't fix vibes, and Biden's vibes are in the trash.

wow, that was a lot...

I was just saying that not everyone views Trump as "strong and masculine" For decades people have been making jokes about his orange foundation and weird hairstyle. Not exactly "he man" stuff

And by the way, I'm from Coweta County, Georgia, so don't ever assume that 1) I'm out of touch with small town folks and 2) that people from DC don't count or aren't "normal," whatever that means...

People from DC count as much as anyone else, but the phrase "Beltway Bubble" didn't come out of thin air.

All I'm saying is Biden has a vibes problem, and while you and I may not understand Trump's masculine appeal, and while on paper it may not be there, he is a salesman first and foremost and knows how to project strength. Politically disengaged voters like the guy in the video see Trump and think "Alpha. Strong. Guy's guy." Biden is incapable of that. He wasn't always, but he is now.

And even if all that is true, Biden still beat Trump once, and he'll do it again

I swear to god, some of yall don't seem to understand that many of us like Biden precisely BECAUSE he's a normal guy and not some weird reality TV star like Trump

Yeah, I get that there are people out there who like Biden for those reasons. I don't think it's enough for him to win. He needs a better comms department.

And you can project strength and also come across as normal. Obama was flawless at that.

It seems to me that Trump has some appeal towards authoritarian Muslims who like this strongman persona or even are anti-feminist. That includes some young men who feel their "priviliges" are threatened. Generally, someone who considers himself an Erdogan stan would prefer Trump over Biden most of the time.

Secular Muslims such as Pres Mike or Mohamed are a totally different story.
