Her campaign burned down all bridges with Trump. I don't think she is viable in 2028.

I don't even think she'd win a house seat in 2026. Not to mention in 2028, she'd have been out of a political/public office for a combined 22 years aka irrelevant; legitimately she'll go the way like Liz Cheney or Adam Kinzinger, no one will care about her at all. Think the likely path for her is a lobbyist gig while being a talking head on CNN and or FOX on the side much like soon to be former congressman Ken Buck of CO-3 will be in January of next year.

An aside as of now I think DeSantis is probably the frontrunner for 2028. Why? He was smart enough to read the room after getting assblasted in IA.

She can join the Bulwark or Crooked Media.

Several podcasters are making that joke.

If Tim Scott is selected as Trump's VP nominee, perhaps that Senate seat? Otherwise, I think her political career is probably over, unless she sacrifices any ambitions of being President to endorse Biden in exchange for some sort of administration role. I doubt she gets anything in a Trump administration.

If Trump loses in November or ends his 2nd term with low approvals, she will be the top candidate in 2028

Her future in the GOP is probably dead so long as Trump is head of the party. GOP would need to undergo a massive transformation for her to be viable in the future.

Honestly, I think her making a third party run may be her best chance to stay relevant. Or at least threaten to unless Trump makes her his running mate. She does have a sizeable chunk of voters that could have massive swaying power. She'd be wise to use it.

Nope. Republican party is realigned. You're not gonna see Bush/Haley type Republicans as the nominee anymore. Whoever Trump picks as veep will be the nominee in 2028.

Maybe she can run another time in 2028, but she'd only have a true chance if Trump lost more this year than in 2020 (unlikely), and she'd only be one of the frontrunners if he dies.

Given that McMaster endorsed Trump in the primary she’s almost certainly not getting Scott’s Senate seat.

Haley will most likely contest the 2028 Presidential Primary. I continue to believe that she is the most likely Republican nominee until and unless there is a viable, popular, figurehead, MAGA-aligned candidate (or she refuses).

Like a certain former Fox News host? Or the subject of a Ron Howard movie turned U.S. Senator?

Except Reagan actually had more support than Ford in the primary, unlike Haley. The grassroots wanted Reagan in 1976, but in 2024 they want Trump.
