There'll be some headlines about Trump being done, but we'll go back to "Dems in Disarray" within 48 hours of the election being called.
"The 2024 election has officially been called for Joe Biden. Here's why that's bad news for Democrats"
Its incredible how accurate this is
That's what happened in 2020. Not only did Biden win, he won Georgia and Arizona, two states that hadn't voted Democratic since Ross Perot was on the ballot to split the GOP vote, but instead of acknowledging that, all the talk was about Democrats underperforming. Maybe the issue wasn't "defund the police" or "socialism", but rather the issue was the polling and Susan Collins or Thom Tillis losing re-election was never a possibility to begin with.

Tillis was absolutely beatable. He was unpopular and a 1.5% margin at the top of the ticket is hardly insurmountable. That one was on Democrats for clearing the field for a nobody who had an affair when he was running as a Boy Scout.

The media will immediately move on to pushing the 2026 Red Wave. Also look for stories about how Biden does not have a mandate, only won because Trump is unpopular, Democrats still need to move to the right, etc.
2026 will be the midterms for the 250th anniversary.

That Trump is a loser and it's time for him to exit the stage.

It’ll probably be another close election though and the party will just bitch about it being stolen again. Rinse, repeat. I don’t know what would stop Trump from going again in 2028.

There's definitely one thing I can think of. Might even happen before this election!

Americans, outside the cult, are simply sick of Trump even if they aren't ecstatic about Biden.
