That Trump is a loser and it's time for him to exit the stage.

That Trump is a loser and it's time for him to exit the stage.

It’ll probably be another close election though and the party will just bitch about it being stolen again. Rinse, repeat. I don’t know what would stop Trump from going again in 2028.

Probably that the polls were wrong all along, as opposed to Biden coming back and winning.

I think you’re right, but also losing 4/5 presidential elections is the type of run that normally provokes a party to do some soul-searching.

That the abortion issue is still hurting the GOP and that even if Biden isn't wildly popular he won because people just didn't want another round of Trump's insanity.

That Trump was seen as too extreme and crazy for the American people to handle

There will be multiple narratives. On one side the narrative will be that there was fraud.

Well, many, but the one seen as most credible and intellectual is that Trump is a uniquely toxic candidate that literally only won because the old GOP crumbled alongside Hillary running a dumb arrogant campaign. It won't end his ambitions and he'll be 2028's frontrunner for a good while, but it will hurt him and widen the wounds.

Hopefully it would mean that Republican politicians see it as politically toxic to reject election results and attack democracy outright.

If Biden is able to recapture the lead in polling by Election Day, it would be similar to 1988.

If Biden is still trailing in polls by Election Day and manages to somehow win, it would be similar to 1948.

There'll be some headlines about Trump being done, but we'll go back to "Dems in Disarray" within 48 hours of the election being called.

Yes. But you used the word "normally," and we are talking about the GOP.

The media will immediately move on to pushing the 2026 Red Wave. Also look for stories about how Biden does not have a mandate, only won because Trump is unpopular, Democrats still need to move to the right, etc.

Trump is so intellectually dishonest and will claim voter fraud as he did in 2020, and he will do so again in 2024; even if he doesn't believe it to be so, guaranteed because God forbid if Orange man should be a "loser"....it's always everyone's else's fault or its always him who is the victim 🙄. Enough of Don the Con!
