People seemed to blame Clinton's win on a combination of the media, bigotry, third party voters, and people staying home. If Biden were to lose, what do you think the reason would be?

There's zero doubt that the blame will be put on Biden for even running for reelection at the age of almost 82. Sure, SOME people will try to blame other factors, but that WILL be the dominant explanation and the one that goes in the history books. Mark my words.

Just like 2016 - people who preferred him winning over Trump winning, but were too selfish and up-their-own-ass to actually go out and vote for him.

"Earn my vote" is a toxic mindset. It's not all about you.

The immense privilege these people have. Imagine telling the Civil Rights marchers in the 1960s that they don't feel like voting "for reasons". Or the women suffragists from the early 1900s. Or modern day democracy protestors in Iran or Burma. People literally died so they can get the right to vote and a bunch of lazy 20 somethings don't vote for the guy/lady they prefer over an outright racist and fascist because of "emails" or "age" or "boring"

Presumably Joe Biden, first and foremost. Hard to put the autopsy before the death, though.

The correct answer is obviously Biden for running at 82. Ideally the deal for the endorsements that let Biden win the primary in 2020 should've been for him to commit to a single term. That would've been a lot more useful to the Democrats than the affirmative action VP pick.

As for who gets the blame, I actually don't think it will be quite so universally placed on progressives this time. I've been pleasantly surprised by how much the Democrats have turned on the media after feeling compelled to defend it just because Trump was mean to them.

I kind of agree. Especially in an election like this. This one is clearly a right vs. wrong election.

A combination of Biden being way too old and running for re-election and a leftist campus movement completely detached from reality and unwilling to operate within the American 2 party system of government.

"You'll lick that boot and you'll like it!"

If Biden loses, it will be deserved. The blame should fall squarely on him and the corrupt DNC for pushing this dinosaur on us in spite of everyone rightly calling out the absurdity of nominating someone in their freakin' 80s. They will try to deflect by finger-pointing at this or that, but just like Hillary these fools are oblivious to their own massive shortcomings.

There are not enough leftists to make this kind of difference. It will be on those in the middle to regret in the years following.

Biden himself. Democrats are basically handing the race to Trump by nominating Biden, whereas they would be at least a tossup with another nominee.

Probably white women, the left’s favorite punching bag. I remember so many memes and charts from kooks on Twitter around 2016/2017.

Since there is a question as to whether Biden knows he's the President these days, I'll put the blame to his staff and Cabinet who are running the show.

All to a degree and Biden himself for running a non-sufficient campaign.

As the choices are so clear - and I know this sounds like a partisan hack, but are my honest thoughts - I'd also blame voters to a degree or general ignorace for allowing a guy to win again after violating multiple laws and inciting an insurrection. Literally, Biden can't be too old or too boring that it's a reason put Trump back in.

Well since some other people are saying this I still don't think Biden is losing despite whatever polling noise we're getting now. The fundamentals don't seem strongly anti incumbent enough to toss out an incumbent president. The last time an incumbent lost without it being a recession was what, Ford? Which obviously had a lot of other factors that aren't present here.

I also wouldn't blame it on age considering the guy he's running against is senile to an equal and arguably greater degree.

The reason Trump is even still a thing is because the left's activist class continues to be insane and push anti white male bigotry with no opposition from the mainstream left.

There will be a lot of blame and finger-pointing going around.

People who were concerned about Biden's age will blame his supporters, his supporters will blame those people (and maybe the media as well), it'll be 2016 all over again.

Can we please not let this happen?

Democrats always blame the media when they lose.  This is despite the fact that 70% of the media is operating with at least a slight liberal bias, of course.

They will say that not enough attention was given to Biden's achievements in comparison to his age, Trump's legal battles, Hunter, etc., etc.  It will echo the "But Her Emails!" whining Democrats engaged in following 2016.

The fact that you consider the media liberal-biased still suggests projection here.
