I feel like I've noticed a change in how Atlas users have discussed I/P recently, so I wanted to ask to see if my observations are real.

My opinions on the issue have not changed, my distaste for the ultra-partisans on either side in the United States has become stronger.

Yes I am more pro Israel than I was on October 6th

Sure, Jan...

Israel/Palestine: Support Israel fully and let them choose how that conflict ends

Anyways, yes, I am vastly more pro-Palestine. I was willing to give Israel a little grace after what happened on October 7, but enough is enough.

They've been back-and-forth, but mostly where I've always been at, which, to say the least, are complex.

My big thing is being defensive of Biden, because this is not an issue worth putting Trump back in office for.

I said October 6th not my views in 2016.

Anyway My views have changed quite a bit on foreign policy since then :

Iran : No longer support ending sanctions

Saudi Arabia : No longer think we should cut of relations with them . We should try very hard to keep the Abraham Accords in place

India/Pakistan : we should only get involved one way or the other if weakening Pakistan helps undermine the CCP . Otherwise we should not get involved in that conflict at all .

TPP : Support as long as there is more transparency

Basically in 2016 my foreign policy views were based on the premise that radical Islamists were the greatest threat while today I believe the CCP is so I don’t believe we should pour in nearly the same resources that I did back in 2016 to defeat radical Islamist terrorism.

Despite this , I have gone back to my 2016 views on Israel/Palestine

I'm more cynical and disillusioned but I'm not any more pro-Palestinian on aggregate than I was before.
I hate the status quo more than ever however.

I was relatively uninformed on the conflict and its history before. It's made me study and read up on a lot and I'm not gonna say I know everything but the picture is a lot more clear to me now. I voted for the last option.

The fact anyone is voting 4/5 shows how terrorism has worked. Disgusting.

If you asked this on October 8th you might have a point but a lot has happened since then.

Please tell me what you expected Israel to do on October 8th other than this?

It took the past few months for me to understand what Netanyahu's government is, and that has been a chilling experience.

I picked Option #5, even though I wouldn't describe myself in exactly those words.

I used to think there were two morally grey parties; one could justifiably side with either. I was personally pro-Israel, for personal reasons.

Now I see that the Palestinian side is terrorists and completely evil and it’s evil to support them.

I am pro israeli people, and pro palestinian people.

Both groups are being served by terrible incompetent governments.

It's confirmed most of my priors (namely, overseas activists on both sides are dominated by bullying hypocrites more interested in the cause than the people; that the israeli government will always backstab any ally they have when they receive the mildest amount of pushback; that hamas is a repulsive clique of squatting thugs who are taking psychopathic glee in their own people dying by the enemy's hand (basically equivalent to Waco); that Netanyahu himself is a vain fool unable to comprehend his own vanity; that abbas and the PA are decayed relics; that the settlers in the west bank would rather see all their country men die than give an inch and that Israeli opposition is barely an alternative besides not being as grossly incompetent as Bibi and pals).

I hate the status quo more than ever however.

This is probably more truthful, but I voted slightly more Palestine just based the things going on currently. The pendulum could swing again the other way, depending on developments by Hamas and IDF.

I've not been pro-Israel since reading Carter's book on the matter about a decade ago.
