Just Wow.
And blue avatars wonder why we use words like Fascists, Traitors, Religious Extremists, etc to describe many of those who follow the GOP/trump.

Democracy is merely a means to an end. It can be cast aside after it has outlived its purpose.

CPAC has changed a lot from 2016, when it was 70% Cruz and Rubio supporters.  Trump refused to give a speech there that year because he feared being booed off the stage.

I loved CPAC when I was in college and went every year.  I wouldn't be able to stomach it today.

Your party is gone now. What you wouldn’t be able to stomach is mainstream GOP. If you continue to support this party, you’re part of its downfall.

Can you imagine if this type of rhetoric was spouted at a largely politically powerless but still great conservative Boogeyman organization like a black lives matter convention? And here though it's uttered by a still highly influential right wing organization and this type of rhetoric is just written off as "pfffft".

CPAC is the American version of the Reichsparteitag in Nuremberg.

I wouldn't be able to stomach being in a room full of Rubio and Cruz supporters. Fortunately, most of them have come around to being Trump supporters and embraced MAGA culture.

Before I clicked in, I was surprised you of all people would use a misleading thread title. Then I thought the tweet was paraphrasing. Then I played it.

Damn.

This is what happens when your conference gets outflanked on the Right by the likes of Nick Fuentes.

It’s never enough.

The tweet text leaves out the next part about “all glory not to government, all glory to God.”

It’s impossible to overstate the importance of Christian nationalism to the American Right. While it’s certainly no recent development, if anything, it is more prevalent among Republicans (Trump supporters) these days.

Maybe these idiots just think Democracy = Democrats and that's why they don't like it, right?

What he said made no sense at all. The idea of democracy is that the people have the power, not the state, and state power has to flow through elections. Opposing democracy is giving "all glory to government" because you want them to be able to rule without a check. No idea what god is has to do with this unless he thinks god is going to directly talk to him with the Ark of the Covenant or something like in the Bible.

Yeah, I thought "ok, there's no way they said that, maybe they hinted at it or something"

no, they really went full mask-off.

Not even the far right parties in parts of Europe say that out loud.

The irony is; I wonder how many of these people actually attend church, read the bible, pray,

https://www.lsu.edu/research/news/2020/1109-unchurched.php

"Christian nationalism is thought to have been an important factor in the election of Donald Trump as President of the United States in 2016—and likely drove many of his supporters to the polls in 2020. Now, new research shows Christian nationalist support of Trump isn’t tied to religious institutions or attending church on a regular basis. Instead, it’s tied to not attending church."

Just a reminder folks, that NONE of the Christian denominations, the Catholic Church, Eastern Orthodoxy, Anglican Communion, Lutheran, Reformed, Methodist, teach Christian Nationalism.

A question for Evangelicals here : Where in the Bible or the Creeds, Confessions, does it teach Christian Nationalism ?

Imagine how unhinged the national convention is going to be. It'll be like a Norsefire rally.
