Is she merely looking out for the Palestinian people and trying to encourage Biden to make the choice that is morally and politically correct, or is she playing with fire and heightening Palestine as an issue that will hurt Biden come November?

She is neither a FF or HP imo. I genuinely think her heart is in the right place most times and I think she gets a bad wrap for being generally on the outside of the mainstream of progressivism/the Democratic Party, but she is also deliberately inflammatory and seems to be more interested in scoring points with the online left and having good soundbites for that community rather than actually governing. She would be much less annoying if she were an activist rather than a politician, at least it would be easier to ignore her that way.

Massive Massive HP . She’s both a Corbynist and a sympathizer for Islamists(though I may be repeating my self) and is definitely the worst member of congress.

Negative; she seems like someone for whom the destruction of Palestinian liberationism does not spark joy.

Gee, I wonder why...

 Roll Eyes

Oh, there are many reasons people might not be, and in her case I've her read her biography. But ultimately none of these reasons are remotely valid; the end of the Palestinian ideology, and its removal from every soul, should cheer (or at the very least relieve) every human on Earth. 1994-2005 in South Africa, where the forces that once promoted it become part of the main organization fighting against them, should be the model to follow; organizations like Hamas and Fatah, and their foreign supporters, should become tools of the Israeli state (or really, actually ideally, specific Revisionist Zionist organizations), and this outcome should spark joy for them.

Ah yes, she and millions of other Palestinians and their supporters around the world should simply give up the hopes and dreams of their people's national liberation to instead be co-opted as tools for their perceived occupying force.

Do you realize how absolutely stupid you sound right now Vosem?

The Germans abandoned their dreams of their people's national liberation and were instead co-opted as tools of perceived subhumans. (And the armies they fought against, in which my ancestors served, did not practice roof-knocking. Among other things.) Today they are actually much happier for it and in some German states Victory Day has been made a holiday. This stuff is absolutely possible and thinkable; in Germany's case it required a total defeat, and unfortunately the culture of the Palestinian cause today is such that it will in this case too.

Rashida Tlaib and her family should learn to celebrate Israel's victory over Palestinian liberationism. Until they do this, they are HPs.

If she had her way, me and every other Jewish person in the world would be rotting in unmarked graves (or drowned in the sea, I suppose).  Whatever you believe about Israel/Palestine, she’s a genuinely evil human being who would happily engage in genocide if she thought she could get away with it.  She’s kinda like Ben-Gvir that way tbh.

I don't think she is the worst person of the world, but I would like to see her primaried. I don't see the benefit of having her in the american Congress.

I don't really think her main focus right now is how her statements affect Biden one way or the other. She's gonna say what she wants to say

The worst Dem in congress with - to put it mildly - extremely biased views on Israel and lots of toxic opinions on others. I wish we had other Muslim reps with mainstream Dem stances.

For as much as she likes to talk about the dual loyalty of American Jews, she's probably the only member of Congress who has been proudly and openly elected to represent a foreign population and has made clear she is willing to sabotage this country for that purpose.

Her willingness to elect Trump to punish the United States is enough to make her a titanium HP, to say nothing of the constant Judenhass.

I sometimes dont agree with her and probably would not vote for her in a hypothetical presidential primary. But we need people like her in congress since all opinions should be represented, and she is in a strong minority on the obvious issues.

Indeed, she massively increases diversity of opinion just by being there.

Honestly? I think she's principled and brave. It's worth mentioning that people like her have for over two decades in this country (and many places around the world, frankly) been treated as terrorists/terrorist sympathizers until proven otherwise. And it's perfectly human of her to feel anger towards Israel. That doesn't absolve her of anti-Semitism, but it's intellectually dishonest to not mention these things.

Plus, at a time when a growing number on the other side and those enabling them (including the current owner of the former bird app) seem to be Reich-curious or adjacent---tendencies that the post-9/11 GWOT enabled---I somehow get the distinct whiff of bullsh-t from some of those negatively obsessed with Tlaib and the rest of the "Squad." Didn't vote.

There's plenty to criticize her for and I agree with her on very few things, but ultimately I respect people who take a stand against injustice of this magnitude, especially when they subject themselves to the ire and backlash of those in power with blood on their hands. The reaction of the Democratic Party to Israel's actions over the past few months has been nothing short of contemptible. It's astonishing to me that this party, which I've always thought of as the lesser evil in this country, is capable of sinking to such moral lows. It's difficult to stomach.

If the Democrats' best argument is that the Republicans would allow for even more dead Palestinians, I honestly don't know if I'll bother voting this year.
