I'm currently using AI to simulate hypothetical Republican presidential primaries, I was just wondering if you all could come up with some of your favorite Republicans, they can be from any era from the founding of the Republican Party to now

Let me know some of your favorites and I'll use one of them

Thanks!

William McKinley.  Only because when I take these online pop-culture quizzes “What US President Are You Most Similar To?”, that dude always seems to pop up as either my first or second match.

John Porter, Mark Kirk and Bob Dold, a trio of moderate Republicans who represented IL-10 on the North Shore between 1980 and 2016. Some of the finest ever public servants in a state with a history of terrible ones.

The obvious names like Lincoln and Sumner have already been thrown out, so I'll throw out Benjamin Bristow as a forgotten figure who was very cool. Absolutely tragic that the 1876 RNC chose a doofus like Hayes to be Grant's successor over him
