Basically adding any eastern European country who wants to be in NATO to the alliance and building a beautiful blue curtain that Putin cannot cross because it would turn Russia into a nuclear wasteland. However it means that we end life support to Ukraine immediately after and let Putin do what he wants to it. I think this proposal gives something to both the isolationists and the warhawks.

I would be open to NATO peacekeepers in Ukraine if the current government and Rada resigns entirely and there be a reversal of lustration in the civil service and ensurances with Russia that the Americans will treat Ukraine post-2014 as a neutral zone.

The only Eastern European countries that border Russia, are not in NATO and want to join are Georgia (arguable if it counts as Europe) and... Ukraine. I have to hope OP is a form of satire.

The exact opposite would happen. Putin isn't going to stop at Ukraine's borders in the median and long run. Instead, he will rebuild his military and continue to move borders via force as he learned that this is a successful strategy and the West just a paper tiger.

Also, tell this to Ukrainians who then have to live under his resign. Russia needs to sacrifice Putin and his regime to save itsself.

Is this a QTWTAIN?

Indeed in this case, it qualifies in multiple senses.

No. Not only is the suggestion morally repugnant, it absolutely would not work.

That's not how it works. If Ukraine loses, Poland is next.

Agreed, and I've never understood this logic. I mean, it's not even hidden in secret what Putin's ambitions are. He called the dissolution of the USSR the biggest geopolitical catastrophy of the 20th century and denies Ukrainians and Belarusians are sovereign people.

Putin is even a greater threat to Europe than Trump is to the future of the US. They are both serious, but the former is much greater.

By refusing to help Ukraine, the GOP is an existential threat to the entire world. Possibly even worse than Hitler was.

It's Putin against the world. It was Hitler against the world.

I am not speaking in hyperbole. To trust Putin is naive
He will not stop with Ukraine. To say "Do whatever the hell you want" is clearly leading us into world war three.
Why cant more people see that?

Perhaps Europe will help more if the US doesn't.

I am not saying Ukraine is doomed. These people are very brave.

What I am saying is that Putin must be stopped and I don't trust Trump to do the right thing.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Trump belongs on prison.
