Had JK won the election, I imagine the elephant in his room would have emerged during JK's first and only term. Thoughts?

That happened in 2008. If he won Veep, he might not have engaged in that affair, and furthermore, Elizabeth Edwards might well have never gotten that fatal cancer that killed her off.

Actually, Mrs. Edwards’ cancer was diagnosed the day after George W Bush’s reelection. This meant that had she succeeded in becoming Second Lady she would have done so while battling her cancer.

Edwards would not have met Rielle Hunter to get involved with her, but all odds are that he would have had an affair with somebody, and plenty of women would have been available (Kissinger: "power is the great aphrodisiac"). I think its pretty clear that his affair with Hunter was because he was a horndog, and not because he had 'found his soulmate'.

If the Rielle Hunter scandal or something like it happened, Edwards would have gotten the Agnew treatment.
