I'm glad somebody brought up Beyonce because the current marketing blitz for Taylor Swift reminds me of her marketing in the 2010s. There was a huge push by her team and the mainstream media to deify her and present her as being one of the most important people in human history and eventually, seemingly overnight, all that ended. It's pretty embarrassing.
