A socially moderate position

Coincidentally, the stock is now rising in pre-market

Oh sure, Anheuser Busch is rising a few percentage points now, but if Trump ever turns against them, for whatever reason, whatever they gain from this will be repaid with loss in spades. They can succeed only by groveling to him, rather than being free to determine their own course. Is this the kind of America we want? A place where every person, company, institution, is under the thumb of one precarious man, to live and die by his whim? I would hope not.

That small Bud Light ad was blown way out of proportion for what it was. Trump is once again right in focusing the anger at companies outsourcing all of their jobs to cheaper labor nations, which is one the reasons he reached the Presidency in the first place.

...was not even an ad. It was a single reel of product placement on Dylan Mulvaney's TikTok feed which, unbeknownst to most, happened to resemble similar reels of product placement on other influencers' TikTok feeds. Bet this is the first time you've heard of Dylan Mulvaney in six months.

LOL, right after AB InBev did a round of layoffs, including some in his home state of Florida.

But seriously, to be a fly on the wall at the Bud Light marketing team's emergency meeting today...

It's quite amazing that Donald Trump can get away with being borderling illiterate. A seventh grader in Denmark could write a more coherent post than that in english.

The "woke" debates don't resonate well with average Americans from either side of the aisle.  Trump is wise to walk away from this.

I find it more disturbing that he might release a list of woke companies.

If he does the only result will be a few idiots will decide to patronize them regardless of the quality of their product to own the cons. Bud Light didn't get a boost because liberal demographics have no interest in their product whatsoever and are big on craft beer or imported ones but it was one of the very few successful boycotts, most fail due to the Streisand Effect.

This is his act of "moderation", much like what he's trying to do on abortion. Let there be no doubt: Once he's elected, there will be no pretense of moderation.

So were supposed to base purchases on what Trump likes? I don't drink beer, but I certainly wouldn't feel obligated to purchase what he liked. I'm tired of this man being crammed down our throats like we should live our lives by his word.

They don't need this culture war fight anymore now that they have something dumber with the Chiefs-Kelce-Swift conspiracy.

Yes. He'll become the root admin if that happens.

The whole Bud Light thing is was weird, because most people who like Dylan Mulvaney or care what products she endorses are too young to buy beer, so I’m surprised their marketing team didn’t consider that. Of course the whole idea of an alcohol company running an ad campaign aimed at young people is ethically questionable at best, so there’s also that to consider.

The target audience was obviously trans people, but done in a pretty clumsy way.

I'm old enough to remember various renditions of the Coors Boycott...

"As of 2019 Coors beer was difficult to find in any Gay Bar in San Francisco"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coors_strike_and_boycott

I suspect the Budweiser boycott might well fade away much quicker by comparison.

I actually think the opposite. I think he's likely to be more anti-trans during the campaign to pander to right wing nutjobs, then not do anything about it in office.

You guys really think Trump randomly did this? Not that I think he cares about the trans issue because he certainly doesn’t, but he’ll do or say whatever is asked if he thinks someone will like him for it.

So TRUMP isn’t a right-wing dictator fascist authoritarian, just a standard politician… excellent news for the campaign.

Voters are loving the moderate candidate in the race.
