It is between SC Sen. Tim Scott and SD Gov. Kristi Noem:

Trump finally reveals who he’s eyeing for vice president

This whole Veep speculation reminds me of 'The Apprentice'.

Hoped it would be Giuliani, based on the earlier rumors. At least that would be funny. Seems his advisors somehow managed to bring him back to a plane of reality at least vaguely resembling our own.

How is this not bigger news

However from what I gather from the interview it’s not necessarily exclusively down to those 2, they’re just strong contenders

If true, at least it wouldn't be Stefanik. Scott would be a great choice.

These are people whom GOP strategists are suggesting to Trump. Maybe he'll pick one of them, but this is Donald Trump we're talking about, he could still easily do a turnaround and pick someone like Michael Flynn or Don jr.

Why do people keep falling for this? Trump and his campaign have been doing this for months. They say "vice-president" and get free coverage about something other than his crimes, and his attempts to escape justice.

Why do people keep falling for this? Trump and his campaign have been doing this for months. Thry say "vice-president" and get free coverage about something other than his crimes, and his attempts to escape justice.

Exactly, and he has a demonstrated history of changing his mind about things seemingly on a whim anyway. Tomorrow he could come out and say that Tim Scott was very mean to the police that one time he talked about being racially profiled and we love our police, don't we folks? We love them, we love them so much. Our police--our police--they are so beautiful. So proud of them, thank you very much. We back the blue, folks! We're backing the blue bigger and better than anyone ever before and, frankly, more than even some police do, they come to me and they say "oh sir, oh sir we are so grateful for your support but the BLM--those thugs--the BLM wants to come and take our funding and we're scared to be seen as racist"--folks, the police are not racist, okay? They're the least racist people, actually, maybe not as not racist as me, but the police are not racist and we're backing them, we're backing the blue, we're backing the blue folks, believe me.

And no one would bat an eye.

Yes, to lessen racial polarization in America which is badly needed.

That's probably just blatent attention seeking as the primary is de facto already said and done. Earlier it was reported he already decided on a running mate.

Enjoying how these threads are always divided between those who are doing serious thinking about who Trump may pick for VP and those who do wish fulfillment fantasies like "I think Trump will pick OJ Simpson because he wants a loyalist."

Tim Scott is certainly plausible. It's not even a strategy or "black friend" thing - Trump has a personal fascination with getting more black support, perhaps because of his hatred of Obama or insecurities about being called racist.

Tim Scott has anti-charisma and will bring zero black voters over. I find it hard to believe Trump will choose him over the MILF who at least has potential to bring some suburban moms back into the GOP camp.

Tim Scott couldn't get any momentum as Prez and he said Affirmative Action was not supposed to be allowed

So you know why Cruz is only 2 points ahead of ALLRED due to fact Blks are galvanized for reparations. Harris in the Veep debate will run circles around Scott.

There is a strong chance now that NC, TX and yes even UT goes D

I mean, that’s absolutely the way Trump thinks and you’re kidding yourself if you think otherwise. Have you seen his lawyer lately?

Donald's idea of "serious thinking" is: "Who will look like a Vice-President on TV, while not upstaging me, yet be utterly loy- hey someone said Trump on FOX News!"

There's two possible sources for this claim:

1-Random staffers or claims of "leaks" about this, meaning they are meaningless.
2-The claim came from Trump himself, in which case it's also absolutely meaningless, just as anything he says.
