Why did so many Share Our Wealth supporters turn into Nazi sympathisers?
Huey Long was a representative of an American variant of fascism. Underpinning a long history from the KKK and Veteran’s Legion, perhaps the first and most notable of non-corporate strikebreakers, and also their rivals in tapping in middle class angst.
Compared to the egalitarianism of going past race, class, and creed of the socialists it should be obvious that Huey Long’s regime in Louisiana was a way of preserving the inequalities of what was once a beneficial capitalist system to his supporters.
