Dennis Kucinich has filed to run against Max Miller as an independent. There are already two Democrats running in the primary.

I wonder if he's aware that the deck is stacked heavily against him in terms of this district's current political lean...

Hahahahaha that's awesome. I guess he's not RFK's campaign manager anymore?

He's kinda like John Travolta -- he keeps coming back after he seemed to have lost for good.

I have tons of family in this district, this is hilarious.

Kucinich was great back in 2004, he verbally eviscerated Bush like almost no other. Kind of a crank, and has no shot, but he'd be better than domestic abuser Max Miller.

I'd bet he gets 11% in that district

He ended up getting 13% and took from Max Miller almost as much as he did the Democrat, kinda impressive.

And we hear progressives have no crossover appeal. Dems should think about running a populist type against Miller in 28, and supporting an Osbornesque figure if they think their brand is too tarnished.

Kucinich isn’t a progressive.  He was initially a George Wallace-style race-baiter who then rebranded himself decades later as a far-left grifter with no national consistency besides Jfern types.  He then lost re-election and became a Fox News Democrat for half a decade before waging a failed left-wing grift campaign for Governor.  Kucinich then rebranded as a diehard Trump supporter…until Trump lost re-election.  He was last seen in his latest grift: managing RFK Jr’s presidential campaign.

Apparently he seriously considered carpetbagging all the way to Washington state after he realized he would get drawn out in the 2010s redistricting: https://www.cleveland.com/open/2011/07/cleveland_rep_dennis_kucinich.html

Also did you forget to type something after “attempted to”?

I don't think progressivism and racism are mutually exclusive tbch. My whole point is that "left" is capacious and we shouldn't do the GOP's job of pigeonholing us for them.

FTR I want candidates to emulate some of his rhetoric and strategies. This man should not be let anywhere near the halls of power again. Though I will say he was 100% right about the War in Iraq.

Being a Trump supporter and being genuinely progressive are incompatible
