Areas in Southern States where Democrats won white vote

Nowadays, whites in southern US tend to go massively GOP, often north of 70% and some over 80%.  For South to make it simple, I am referring to former confederate states from US civil war, so what would be some areas be it cities, or counties where Biden and Democrats of recent won white vote.  Ones I can think of are:

-  Austin metro area

-  Dallas proper, but not suburbs

-  New Orleans

-  Springdale, Arkansas (one of few cities in Arkansas where Biden likely won white vote)

-  Nashville

-  Northern Virginia

- Charlottesville

- Buncombe, Orange, Durham, Wake and possibly Mecklenburg county in North Carolina

-  Inner Atlanta metro area (Fulton, DeKalb and Clayton counties, counties beyond Biden won but not white vote)

-  Athens, Georgia

-  Alachua county for sure and possibly Leon, Orange, Broward, and Miami-Dade in Florida but Alachua is only one I am certain Biden won there. 

Mississippi and Alabama appear to be two states where GOP wins white vote everywhere.  In case of South Carolina, Trump probably won white vote in Charleston and Richland counties, but Biden narrowly in Charleston and Columbia proper.

He probably won it in the city of Houston, though not Harris County.

Also why do you think he won it in Springdale but not Fayetteville?

My bad I meant Fayetteville not Springdale but yes Biden won there but not Springdale.

Agreed Biden likely won white vote in Columbia proper and also Charleston proper too, but Richland and Charleston counties as a whole Trump likely won white vote.  Trump would have won white vote in suburbs of those too and massively won white vote in rural portions of county although latter a relatively small portion.  Only rural parts somewhat close where islands off coast of Charleston as there you tend to have more your well to do types who used to go heavily GOP but since party has gone MAGA, many in that group have fled to Democrats.

This really depends on how you define "area."  There are neighborhoods in Jackson, Memphis, Montgomery, Baton Rouge, Savannah, etc., etc. where Biden won the White vote.  My old neighborhood in Jackson, Belhaven, is such a place.

Biden might have won white vote in Savannah proper but definitely not in Chatham County but Savannah proper probably close to 50/50 amongst whites.  Jackson, Montgomery, and Baton Rouge I am skeptical as GOP vs. Democrat vote was almost bang on Black vs. white population and unlike Latinos and Asians where a sizeable minority go GOP, amongst African-Americans its consistently over 90% Democrat no matter where you go so just seems mathematically unlikely.  Memphis I would agree however as while city wide, Trump definitely won white vote, probably some more trendy neighborhoods with lots of young college types had Democrats win white vote.

I'm leery about Dallas, because it's only Biden+41, despite having quite a small proportion of white voters. Moreover the southern part of the city (bordering Kaufman County) is heavily African-American and votes 85-95% D, so that's probably a big factor driving up the Democratic margin in the city.

Also not sure about Leon (which I'd guess is pretty racially polarized - Tallahassee isn't a particularly large city with a growing population, so I'm guessing the Democratic votes are coming from the black population that's historically lived there rather than white transplants) or Orange (which is very, very racially diverse and not all that Democratic - Biden barely cracked 60%) Counties in Florida.

I think for Dallas county, Trump probably narrowly won white vote, but Dallas proper Biden probably narrowly did but close either way.  Largest minority is Hispanic and unlike African-Americans, I am guessing 20-30% of them voted for Trump.  African-Americans are 23% in Dallas while Hispanics are 42% and Trump only got 29% in Dallas proper.  For Houston Trump probably won white vote as well as Houston is always somewhat more GOP than Dallas.  Larger energy sector and people in that sector tend to vote GOP for obvious reasons even if college educated.  Now in Tarrant county including Fort Worth, yeah Trump won white vote pretty solidly, likely north of 60%.

I’m interested to know of areas not impacted entirely by white transplants.

Mostly college towns but yes most areas where Democrats winning whites in South have lots of transplants.  Other common thread is religiosity.  South is very religious and people who attend church weekly tend to vote GOP.  I suspect most places in South where Democrats win white vote have weekly church attendance under 25%.  Amongst religious population in South, Democrat support largely limited to African-Americans.

Maryland and DC are culturally Northeastern and while considered border states of South, they sided with union in Civil War so question to avoid any disputes on which is South or not, I limited to 11 former confederate states.  Oklahoma, Missouri, Kentucky, West Virginia, and Delaware also southern by some accounts.  In case of Maryland & Delaware Biden likely won white vote statewide.  Both are part of Bos-Wash corridor which is economically and culturally integrated.

Missouri off course has St. Louis, Boone County, while Jackson and St. Louis County pretty close to even amongst whites.  Biden likely won Kansas City itself.  For Kentucky, even there Biden probably won Lexington and Louisville amongst whites but not by much and lost badly in rest of state.  For West Virginia probably won white in Morgantown and maybe odd other town but no counties off course.  In Oklahoma, Norman probably closest but even there guessing Trump narrowly won white vote.
