I found out about this on the O'Reilly Factor. He might have had a point if he didn't complain endlessly about them not showing FOX NEWS.

The fewer people that watch that station the better.

I think it is fine if they want to watch Al Jazerra in Canada. I just find it hard to believe they would ban FNC. It makes no sense and certainly violates freedom of choice.

I don't think they ban FNC, it's just not shown on that specific provider.

Actually Fox News is banned in Canada. Canada has extremely strict rules about how much (and what) non-Canadian content is shown on their basic TV packages. These rules were put into effect years ago when left wing politicians complained that Canada was "losing its culture" because everyone was watching exclusively American TV and news. It's so bad up there that a large number of Canadian citizens have to use bootleg DirectTV satellite cards to see things like ESPN (also banned) and Fox News.
