I had an opportunity to join a public-sector union at the age of thirteen, but even then I was mature enough to know that doing so was immoral. I refused, even though the union dues would be forcibly looted from my paycheck regardless. Every day I'm thankful that I kept my soul pure. If I had taken the immoral, easy way out, I would never be able to ascend to Libertarian Valhalla upon my death and dine with Ayn Rand, Milton Friedman, and Friedrich Hayek in the glorious afterlife.

My ancestors are smiling upon me, progressives. Can you say the same?

Very few people here complaining about public sector unions have experience working in local or state government. I don't doubt the internal politics of some public sector unions is toxic, but most confer real, tangible benefits for employees and prospective staff.

Time to take a big dump on Scott Walkers crooked legacy.

Scott Walker was great and it’s sad his legacy is getting wiped out . Our country would be in far better shape if he won the presidency in 2016 as he truly would have been the Margaret Thatcher of the US

Nah, I don't think even Thatcher deserves such insult.

Good, Scott Walker and his “legacy” should be consigned to permanent irrelevance.

Also, as a former building rep in a teachers union, I can say with firsthand experience that if there is one issue with some teachers unions, it’s that they don’t do nearly enough for teachers in the face of corrupt district leaders and unfair administrators. In all the meetings I had to go to, there was not one mention of CRT or “gender ideology”, and we voted down a motion to support Sawant in her recall effort. And this is a union in “woke socialist hellhole” Seattle!

CRT in education isn't teaching kids CRT. Its applying the idea of CRT to make things more "equitable" It probably doesn't even involve the word CRT.

This is something that, in Seattle, has been entirely the work of the district, not the union. There was never a discussion of considering a student’s race when disciplining or grading. Not once.
