Why on earth is PA that big? Where is Ohio and Illinois for instance? They should be equally big considering population.

PA-13 seems appropriate somehow. Smiley

How ironic! I didn't even notice that.

I make the count of present registered voters (based on Fritz's list above, dated 13th December) to be 123. If anybody feels like checking it, feel free.

Our * population will likely increase as a post-election Atlas has fewer visitors.

Henceforth, members of parties with 1-2 members will be identified on voter registration lists issued by this office as belonging to "other party" (O).  This affects no one's registration, you may still create and register with whatever party name appeals to you.  The SOFA simply has better things to do than keep track of the proliferation of one-member parties (and the fact that King keeps creating new ones had something to do with this).

Thank you,
Fritz

Fritz,

I think you've missed Reagan's re-registration in Ohio.

Here's a voter map.  Color is coded to the % of non -asteriks.  As you can see, Atlasia has a hole that needs filling in its middle.

Ernest brings up a good point: due to the large number of voters in NY and PA, it's getting hard to redistrict. Also, perhaps we can find a way to encourage people to move to the Empty Quarter out there?

*modified part* Whoa! Missed the fact that this is my 1000TH!!!! POST!!!! Kiki

Actually this map, which has changed marginally, actually makes redistricting easier as we might actually be able to get contiguous districts, which will be brilliant in my opinion.

Well, it would still be nice to fill up the empty states (although since that map J-Mann has appeared in Kansas). And can we get contiguous districts as it stands? Because the populations of NY and PA have already caused the district contiguity law to be adjusted once to allow for a one-state gap.

There is a new SOFA thread, here. That is updated.

Problem is that when StevenNick took over the Atlas Forum HQ he actually forgot to set the SoFA link to the new one, which is kinda odd considering its his.

Question: if PA and NY continue to grow, will things get compeltely out of hand?

Actually the fact that they have grown has so much has now made things better. At their combined size, they couldn't be in the same electoral district next time and therefore will have to be separated if numbers stay relatively the same. I looked at the maps a couple of weeks ago, and I reckon it is actually possible to create 100% contiguous districts.

I think that Gustaf's question pertained to the case when either NY or PA get really large, and the answer to that would be yes: if either of them have so many residents that even putting one of them as a single district makes that district have too many people for one district, then yes, we will have a problem.
