I will excercise my autonomy for this one and vote Nay.

The bill comes from a good sentiment in regards to wanting to do more for specific native groups, but I don't agree with the bulk of the actual measures proposed in so far as some appear unnecessary (the language signs), redundant (we're quite literally taxing the hell out of people already), and/or, in my opinion, detrimental (a guarantee of political representation without specifiying what it will be.

Nonetheless, I suspect there's a good future bill to be found in a shorter, lighter version for the next session.

Agreed, and I suspect the next senate's composition may be more favorable to a bill like this in any case.
