What is your opinion of this statement??? I am obviously pro choice, but the idea of a deity that nearly wiped out humanity being "pro-life" makes zero sense to me.
The Old Testament is full of metaphors and similies that have no bearing on the Christian Pro Life belief.
The Christian Belief on abortion comes out of the Early Church; through documents such as the Didache, and through the belieds of the Church fathers; and as a Catholic, I hold the Church Fathers in very high esteem. As all Christians should.
https://www.churchfathers.org/abortionThe concept of abortion, what it is, and all that only from my understanding developed in the greco roman era, which the Old Testament had preceded several hundred years. The early Christians for many reasons, disapproved of many so called Pagan practices of the Greco Roman world of which abortion was a part, the other was sodomy ( which was how the whole Anti LGBT developed centuries later.)
