They were not doing anything sexual directed at or around kids, and this wouldn’t be an issue if they had some modicum of respect in not actively distracting the audience from their movie by smoking or being loud.

The severe sexism and crab-bucket mentality surrounding this event has superseded the hypocrisy in this platform.

This is exactly the sort of situation where it makes sense to show concern for children. That was a theatre, not an adult movie house or an orgy. People should be able to bring their children to a show with them potentially exposed to sexual behavior. Nobody is turning into a panic, so calm down and don't fly on the handle.

But the fact that it definitely has legs, is continuing to embarrass Boebert and that she's already on very thin ice electorally to begin with indicates that this could be a big deal, I'd say her odds of being in Congress in 2025 are below 50/50. It's worth noting that controversial figures who underperform almost always get dumped eventually be it primary or general election, there's usually at least one every year. Last year it was Madison Cawthorn, in 2020 it was Steve King. Boebert seems like a likely 2024 candidate*, especially because continuing to renominate her is a liability for the GOP, even if she wins by the skin of her teeth each election that's still tons of money that has to be dumped on her that could be spent elsewhere and not in this district they shouldn't have to spend any money in.
