Why did Trump nearly win Minnesota?

I just noticed he did so much better in this election than in 2020. What made him do so well even if he lost the state?

Third party voters, caused by Clinton's unpopularity. His margin was actually slightly less than Romney's in 2012.

The same thing could easily happen in 2024. Biden will soon be less popular than Clinton was in 2016.

In both 2012 and 2020, third-party was about 2.5% of the vote in Minnesota

If you think someone with the approval ratings Trump has is going to win a state that leans decently towards the other party, you are sorely mistaken
