Biden's fallen a long way from opposing Roe in the '70s to emphasizing his discomfort with abortion when running for VP to now sounding just like Planned Parenthood.

People adjust their positions over a career that now lasts half a century. Biden was mostly honest about it, like when he came out in support of SSM before Obama. A lot of people evolved on the issue.

My poli sci TA said a long time ago that voters are gonna reach out to Ds as Eday comes near not to Rs and that was during Gingrich Revolution the reason why that wasn't the case back then was due to Lewinsky but 2006/08/12/18/20/22 proved this is the case because to be Conserv is to take out entitlement in lieu of tax cuts for people making over 400 K and most middle class jobs aren't lawyers or Doctors it's Teachers making 50 K, that's not rich but enough to take care of a 3 person family , 1 child andom and dad

That's why Trump is only consolidated his base in the primary and Harris X has Biden thumping Trump 52/48 which means Biden is getting stronger

It’s sad to see. He calls himself a Catholic yet continues to oppose Church teaching. He is a Catholic in name only, not one actually practicing the faith.

So are the Catholics who hate the homeless and prop up the rich with tax cuts.

My religion works for me, I don't need the government to force it on you. It's also quite low to question someone's faith.

Let me also say that this ad shows just how far outside of the mainstream these GOP candidates are, especially DeSantis and Trump. 60% of the country supports Roe V. Wade, and 55% identify as being pro-choice. At a time of intense polarization, 55% and 60% are big numbers.

There were once three Popes at the same time - Catholics disagreeing with each other is one of the most time-honored traditions in the entire Catholic Church

Smart move. Biden needs to keep the spotlight off of himself and the economy.

You can still be pro-life but not support the government dictating whether someone can get an abortion. If you're pro-life, just don't get an abortion. It's pretty simple.

The current setup post-Roe is a nightmare.

Biden actively supports the federal government funding abortions. It’s one thing to say “I’m against it but it’s not something that government has to be involved in” versus “I’m against it…but I’m totally in favor of spending money on it!”

For the record, the prior position is in line with Catholicism, the second one is not.

Pope... no wait, ST. John Paul II distributed communion to a Pro Abortion European politician. No one seemed to mind.

And Pope Emeritus Benedict didn't intervene with Biden during his time as VP, nor has Pope Francis.

It isn't that simple, in that a lot of pro-lifers literally believe that abortion is murder.

The fully logically consistent position with that fundamental value would be to put anyone who has an abortion in jail for life, though nobody wants to grasp the full implications of their ideology because it's politically unpopopular.
