Here's an idea 💡 If Donald Trump thinks that getting a mugshot is going to help him with donors and sensible Republican's he's really lost the plot! No one but deluded Trumpists buy his BS, that I'm being "your victim" and "Don't cry for me Argentina". This victimhood shtick con, can only go so far! Obviously his base are pure dumba**es and deserve to be conned by this grifter. The mugshot can only get him so much and so far! Donald Trump is now part of the criminal justice system and nor because he did anything for anyone! Trump is a typical con, "I'm innocent!" He tried to crap on the Constitution because he couldn't win honestly. He's a thundering disgrace.

I only disagree regarding the matter that it won’t work. It really will and the only thing that can stop him is if you arrest him for good and block him from running like by making him ineligible.

Even if he Trump is convicted and made ineligible to run i think he's uncaged an element of the GOP that's going to be hard to contain, a lot of Republicans love his style of politics and once he's gone plenty of people will be jockeying to take his place.

Trump's style just clicked with a lot of people, i have some relatives who ADORE him to a level that makes me worry for their mental health. Even if Trump's gone his essence is here to stay, unless the sniveling wretches in the GOP establishment decide to have spines inserted.

It’s that case where someone is lying to you and you know it but they’re so likable that you low-key root for their con to succeed in some instinctive level like they were some sort of anti-hero or something.

Europeans “hard-right” always looked extremely cold and uncharismatic to me, like it was a corporate brand of its own.

There’s a heart and passion in Trump that always makes me think of Latin American “hard-right” closer personalism politics instead.

Like, all of European “far-right” politicians are easily replaceable, it’s something way more tied to the idea or the party than to the person itself.

In Germany you think of AFD, Spain you think of Vox, Italy you think of basically all the parties lol. France is an exception where it has been historically capitalized by the Le Pen family, but I easily see them as replaceable too.

In the Americas, we’re warmer than the Euros and the personalist element is way way stronger. You don’t necessarily think of the party as much, you think of the person. Trump, Bolsonaro, Milei, etc.

Latin America has always been like this but US was mostly repressed with their bipartisan system and both parties having a tight grip and control at their electorate.

However, nowadays the Republican Party doesn’t have any control at repressing their electorate anymore, like Democratic Party was successful in doing with all the “Stop Bernie” stuff.

That means very similar trends to us in Latin America regarding what concerns the “right-wing” camps. However, I will point out that Trump is way more charismatic than any conservative figure I’ve seen produced around my bubble in a long time. Which makes him more dangerous yeah.

I really don't get the how the bolded part above applies to Donald Trump. I get the general idea. I can see it in figures like Christie, or what I see as a particularly strong example, The Mooch. But in Donald Trump? Pull the other one.

How can anyone look at or listen to Donald Trump and not see the constant stream of self serving lies is beyond me. It's an endless array of  dog ate my homework-level BS. And far from being charming, it's repellent. He whines, he oozes, he seldom even manages basic grammar. He sheds a constant miasma of hate and ego. He has all he charm of an entitled brat desperately in need of a visit with Willy Wonka.
