Trump currently leads DeSantis 52-12 in the Republican Primary.

However when Respondents are asked a follow up Question "Would you vote for Trump if he's convicted?" Trumps Supports plumments from 52 % to 35 % while DeSantis rises from 12 % to 20 %

In the General Election Respondents were asked the same Questions.

Biden leads Trump 47-41 but if he is convicted Trumps Support goes down to 38 % while Biden stays at 47 %

Interesting and encouraging poll, but I am ultimately skeptical. People may say that now but I foresee many thinking differently amid a swarm of Trumpist pundits calling the convictions fake and political.

Insane that he still leads in the primaries.

Maybe the Republican Party needs a Trump nomination despite himbeing under house arrest or even prison and then lose in a landslide up and down the ballot. Biden and Democrats subsequently would be presented with a huge chance to enact big things into the books and try convince people in the long run that solid and practical governance is the way to go. But I sadly guess that's closer to wishful thinking than reality.

I can't possibly see Trump in prison in 2024 because any conviction rendered by a jury will be appealed and those often drag out for years. He could be convicted pending appeal

If a person is convicted of serious crimes, they tend to be in big trouble regardless of any polls. Wink
