I wonder if you're now just saying the opposite of the truth.

True, there is little chance that Ramaswamy wins, but that's because of Trump. He might be the frontrunner now if Trump drops out.
Vivek is total garbarge. I am glad Nikki Haley nailed him on Foreign Policy. Vivek is just there to appease Trump. Vivek wants to cut ties with Israel.
“Israel doesn’t need America. America needs Israel.” - Nimrata Randhawa

Vivek was right. Our relationship with Israel is a FRIENDSHIP, and shouldn’t be one-sided. We shouldn’t be subservient to Tel Aviv.
I have some oceanfront property in Kansas to sell you if you think a majority of republicans feel that way.
Their feelings don’t matter if the actual facts are contrary to them.

Ramaswamy had a bad Debate, accept that all you Clowns!

Is there anyone in the world more out of touch than "The GOP just needs to get back to normal" people? It's never ever going back to normal.
After 2024 it will be back to normal!
The GOP of 2024 is fundamentally much different compared to the GOP of 2016.

Whether you like it or not, we aren’t ever going back to the party of Bush and Cheney. The 2028 nominee will be someone cut from the same ideological cloth as Trump.

The 2015 GOP was not the party of Bush/Cheney , it was the party of Reagan . Bush was a Reaganite Republican, he was just incompetent while Reagan was competent

Ramaswamy's stance on Israel would be an issue for Republican voters. Trump can effectively brand Ramaswamy as "anti-Israel" for his stances. He could even call him "Ramasnazi" (even though opposing funding for Israel does not make you a Nazi or even anti-Semitic) for his stance on Israel.

Bush was not reaganite. Reagan pushed supply-side economics such as tax and spending cuts. Bush pursued "compassionate capitalism", such as expanding Medicare Part D, no child left behind, Dream Downpayment Act, etc.

No wonder the economy crashed. Bush has been an unmitigated disaster for the GOP, and it still has an identity crisis. That's why it went with Trump.

Don't get me wrong, I find his positions obnoxious, though I have feeling he might have become the nominee in a universe in which Trump passed on a run.

His stance on Israel will not play well with the Evangelical Base, who considers Israel to be the holy land.

Oh definitely.

I have formed the opinion that he is of the Carson-Cain type of candidate, the only ones besides Trump that gave the GOP establishment a scare.

It's also obvious that the GOP voters are highly suspicious of elected officials.

I'm not sure that matters all too much. Who would have thought in 2015 Republicans would nominate guy that insulted veterans like John McCain and attacked Gold Star families?

You act as if evangelicals have principles. At present, they are backing a serial cheater, thrice married, candidate who has been convicted of sexual abuse.

Christie had a good zinger but it did not cause a Rubio 2016 effect. Ramaswamy recovered, and he could have staying power in the GOP going forward. Not sure in what capacity, but we won't be rid of him for awhile, unfortunately.

I hope his campaign tanks pretty soon. He is definitely not what our country needs at this time.
None of the candidates with a remote chance of being elected President in 2024 is what the country needs. Of all of them, Trump is the least of the evils, but that isn't saying much.

I think he's having a moment, like the moment Harris had back in 2019 after her first debate. I am deeply skeptical Republicans would nominate a brown guy named Ramaswamy, unless Trump endorsed him.

I think Trump would endorse Scott had he passed on a run. Trump would still want to lead the party and Scott would have the most to gain from an Trump endorsment.
