This is the one part of the debate that truly puzzled me. When everyone and their mother was going after Vivek, DeSantis did nothing and thus let him win the attention game. He could have made an attempt to "out-Trump" Ramaswamy or run to the right of him, but did none of that.

He probably figured he risked coming across as too desperate. Evidently, he didn't need to since everyone else did that for him.

DeSantis's strategy was very strategic but also risky. His relative abstaining from attacking the other candidates including Vivek was safe and prevented any gaffes or controversial statements but also prevented him from appealing favorably to anyone who is either supporting another candidate or undecided.

Really it comes down to what folks have observed about the man earlier.  He refrained from attacking Trump for months and wouldn't take a definitive stand on Trump's involvement in January 6th.  So in a way it was like up to this debate the man had basically "made his bed" and thus anti-Trump attacks (ironically) need to be more measured than the other candidates who just straight up called out Trump.

Not only did he not go after Vivek, he even managed to pivot himself into BASICALLY AGREEING WITH VIVEK ON UKRAINE by loudly countering NO WE GOT TO THINK ABOUT THIS COUNTRY FIRST when Nikki Haley was trying to blast him for calling the conflict "a border dispute".  This is definitely a stance that is lathered in cowardice, but with the mans established ANTI-WOKE REGIME quasi MAGA quasi culture warrior schtick, what did folks expect?

He's still not going to win and neither is Vivek.  Both of these guys are basically holding Trumps water for him until he is able to attend a debate.  LETS NOT LIE.

"But Mecha, did you hear what Ron said about Don like three days ago?"

If you asked me the so-called "conflict" between Don and Ron is probably a good example for someone to use if they want to argue that politics equals professional wrestling.  These two guys were like frat bros with each other for years, one of them was a loyal footsoldier to the other, and now suddenly the acolyte is going to get really big for his britches and challenge THE GREAT LEADER?  And not making one actual serious attack about said candidates biggest weakness?

Yeah, it smells West Texas cowshit in here.
