RNC has committed to "between 6 and 9" GOP primary debates. If the leading candidate isn't even showing up we definitely don't need these. Debate 2's already scheduled but just say no more debates after it until December (when presumably Debate 5 would be) and have that be the new Debate 3. Maybe having it be a few weeks before Iowa is enough to lure Trump into showing up, maybe not. Either way, why have an October and November debate with these has beens and clowns?

But what about all the comedy that can be mined from it!? The WGA probably regrets going on strike when it did!...Okay, not really, this debate wasn't actually all that entertaining. I wasn't even as fuming mad as I thought I would be. It was just pitiful overall.

The most accurate take I've seen so far.

Disagree. Each candidate spoke for just 10 mins yesterday. We need to hear more from them. If it were just 2-4 candidates, then we could trim the debate schedule. But with so many qualifying candidates, we need more debates to give them time

Having one debate for an uncompetitive primary is already pushing it
