Penguins G Tristan Jarry scored an empty net goal in Thursday's game against the Lightning.

It was pretty awesome. Too bad our powerplay is ass.

Sabres break their losing streak by winning against Boston of all teams. Amazing 60 minute effort for once.

Blues end Craig Berube's tenure as head coach.

The Blues should be game misconducting Doug Armstrong out of his job first before Craig Berube.

Thanks for getting us our first Stanley Cup trophy, Chief Berube.

my feelings on the Sabres throughout this season:

please guys be consistent you're killing me

So not sure if we're in the "IT'S SO OVER" trench or the "IT'S OVER" trench but it's one of them

We’re not talking about the sabres game on Tuesday.

I feel like an idiot even going to watch tonight’s game but if this team does nothing else it’s surprise when everything looks bad.

The Islanders are visiting Montreal thursday. When the Canadiens were looking for a new GM or coach Roy was the more popular choice with people. Local sports channel changed scheduled game to show Roy first game as coach with Islanders and added Islanders games to their schedule.

Five members of Canada’s 2018 World Junior team to face sexual assault charges
Quote
Five players from the 2018 Canadian World Junior team are set to face sexual assault charges, according to a report Wednesday from the Globe and Mail.

The players reportedly have been told to surrender to police in London, Ontario, after multiple investigations into the case over the last five years. The pending charges stem from an alleged sexual assault after a Hockey Canada banquet in London celebrating the team’s gold medal. A woman alleges that she was assaulted by a group of players from the hockey team in a hotel room in the early hours of June 19, 2018.

<snip>

The Flyers announced Tuesday that Hart had “requested and been granted an indefinite leave of absence citing personal reasons.” They also announced that the club would have no further comment at the time.

<snip>

Hart’s decision to take a leave of absence came just days after another member of the 2018 World Junior team, Calgary’s Dillon Dubé, took a leave of absence, citing his mental health. On Wednesday, Alex Formenton, another member of that junior team, left Swiss professional team HC Ambri Piotta to return to Canada. His Swiss team called the departure an indefinite leave of absence.

On Wednesday, the New Jersey Devils announced that Michael McLeod and Cal Foote, two members of the 2018 Canadian team, were taking leaves of absence as well.

The St. Louis Blues, hosting Pride Night, scored 3 of their 4 goals in the space of 32 seconds in the 2nd period in their 4-0 win over the Islanders.

I noticed the Pride Blues logo change on FB yesterday and decided to brave my way into the comments.  Mostly supportive (though they could have been removing the worst comments), which is good to see.  I suppose hockey fans trend slightly younger and upper middle class.

Blues have been (mostly) better these last few weeks.  Beating some good teams, but as is often the case, losing to some bad ones.  Better than last season!  We've got a decent shot at the playoffs at this point.  Last year it was pretty much over by now (if not a month ago) if I remember correctly.

Sadly, I strongly suspect they were removing the worst comments. Anytime I go on a Facebook pages about a news article favorably reporting about an NHL Pride night the majority of respondents range from thinly veiled homophobic go woke go broke BS to just downright neanderthal. It's very disheartening

I imagine over 50% of conservative hockey fans are Albertans.

Traveled to Columbus last night to see my beloved pens play the blue jackets. But they lost in the shootout. Well I'm glad they at least took a point home the Blue Jackets are not a team they shouldn't walk away with at least two points against. My summary of the game is it was two teams trying to prove which one was slightly less bad. Looks like the Pens aren't going to make the playoffs for another year in a row.

Will be interesting to see if Crosby plays 1, 2, 3 or 4 more seasons, and which team he plays for in those seasons. Pens will trade him if he asks for it, also he is a free agent next summer.

If Crosby leaves, management will probably sit down with Malking, Letang and Karlsson and see who wants to stay and who wants to be traded to a playoff team.

Crosby is a franchise player. He will never ever leave the pens. 98% plus sure

Likely not Malkin either. I think he also stays a Penguin until he retires.

The players on the Arizona Coyotes roster have been told that they'll be relocating to Salt Lake City in Utah, effective next season.

Emily Kaplan at ESPN.com:
Quote
Arizona Coyotes players were informed Friday that the team is relocating to Utah, sources told ESPN, confirming a report by PHNX Sports.

Coyotes general manager Bill Armstrong met with the players ahead of their game against the Edmonton Oilers to confirm what had been rumored all week: that the NHL is working to facilitate a sale to Ryan and Ashley Smith, owners of the Utah Jazz. The Coyotes will begin playing there next season.

The NHL and Smith's group have been working on a deal, but sources told ESPN on Friday night that nothing was done yet, and there was plenty of work to go before the deal was finalized.

An announcement is expected next week, at the conclusion of the NHL regular season, sources told ESPN.
