In a few years time it will be GONE! The Republican Party need something that is sustainable, a governing Coalition and MAGA isn't one of it!

Why is it that Democrats are concerned and focused on this?

(This is based on supposing the OP of this thread is correct.)

Shouldn’t the Democrats be overjoyed?

The Democrats are not happy. They are also not healthy. The Democrats, specifically with Joe Biden, won Election 2020, with unseating Donald Trump, yet not a day comes and goes without Democrats obsessing over Trump.

Trump in 2016 represented the moderation the GOP needed to remain competitive, especially on economics, foreign policy, and settled social issues like gay marriage. The problem is that these positions were secondary to the Führerprinzip of Trump to a majority of his supporters, and because he'll tend to do what his base wants and now he's got conservative suits whispering in his ear and goading him their direction, he's dropped the things that made him more palatable beyond the conservative base. Trumpism could be codified into something more popular again by a career politician, but it'll take the end of Trump himself and the scattering of his cult of personality, and possibly a rejection of the man himself while embracing the changes his 2016 run brought.
