1912: Debs a major candidate?

TommyC1776:
I always thought he was.  In one of my books, it says their were just three main candidates in the 1912 Election.  Wasn't Debs major at all?  I mean he did really good.  He even won some counties (4).

Gabu:
Depends on what you mean by major.  He definitely wasn't going to win.

DownWithTheLeft:
His candidacy is very influential for the future so yes he is

If that's what you're going by, there was only one major candidate in 1912.

Okay, wasn't going to win a state.

Not that I'm saying that's the be-all and end-all definition of "major candidate"; I'm just giving an example.
