For many years, the Hijab was banned in many capacities in Türkiye, until this ban was relaxed by Erdogan and the AKP.

Was this ban a necessary component of promoting a secular, free, and progressive society in Türkiye, or was it a violation of religious freedom and a threat to a cohesive society?
