Christ, our Scott was more in touch than this.

For a second, I read "our Scott" to mean Scott the Atlas poster, and I was like... yeah, obviously.

Wasn't this guy governor for eight years?  Shouldn't he have some ideas of what young people care about and how to provide it beyond sponsoring more Ben Shapiro events?

Not quite. Still, Scott Walker hasn't yet reached "Tackling Child In Final Days of Campaign" levels of stupidity yet, so I guess he has that going for him.

Next thing you'll know these extremists will be setting up re-education camps to "undo" this imaginary liberal indoctrination.

Walker is wrong again. Young voters have been more liberal for at least the past century and it has more to do with the GOP not knowing how to appeal to them.

Imagine being so out of touch, so oblivious to the world around you to believe this shiite.

I was literally planning on coming home from work tonight and starting a thread to talk about this graphic. Not Walker's idiotic, cynical conclusion from it, but the fact that repubs are getting murdered by the younglings in these states.

Anyways, what's the saying? The first step in finding a solution to a problem is admitting you have one? I'm not even sure republicans are at step 1. As someone else alluded to above, they're literally the Principal Skinner meme on this one.

Expect more drives to ban student ID's as an acceptable form of identification at the polls, and zero policies to address the fact that college, rent, houses and healthcare are astronomically more expensive for their generation than it was for their parents.

The Brookings Metro report on how 18-29 yo's are voting in these swing states is VERY much news. Walker's fascist take on it? Less so, granted, but still news.

We have a megathread on the WI Supreme Court election already. Why not post it there? There's no need to clog up the forum with yet another thread about yet another pointless tweet. Twitter does not matter.

So is your issue with this statement being given its own thread, or that the source is a tweet?

Fundamentally what is the difference between posting an article reporting on Walker’s tweet and the tweet itself?

Come up with a reason other than BIRD APP BAD

Like it or not, Twitter is used as a communications tool by every major government, corporation, and news outlet.

You may not like it, but tweets are absolutely news.

Given that the platform will not survive this year, no, Twitter is not a legitimate tool for communication. These threads will be unintelligible in future years after Twitter is defunct and the links are broken.

"Never my fault".

It's also a bit of a condescending stance taken by Walker, since it works under the assumption that young people have a right to a opinion as long it is the correct, Walker-approved opinion. If it is not then it is the result of "liberal indoctrination". In other words, the only non-indoctrinated opinion is the Republican one. They're probably not gonna win more young people over with that point of view.
