If OUATIA is not at the top of the list then the list is wrong and you are not allowed to comment on films. Not that the other films are bad or anything (not at all!), but...

I think most people think The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly is his best film.

Most people of taste don't. It's a good film! But it's not as good as OUATIA: most films aren't...

Once Upon a Time in the West and The Good, The Bad and the Ugly are the 2 best ones.

I misread the title as "Sierra Leone's films" and was shocked to learn that Sierra Leone has a film industry. Alas.

The Good the Bad and the Ugly is actually my favorite film, but Once Upon a Time in America, in spite of how butchered it remains even on the extended versions, is on a different level.

It's also quite an experience to compare versions. I originally watched the 229 minute version - European cut - and, when doing a rewatch last year, I watched the 251 minute restoration. The mismatched quality is jarring and you can immediately tell what scenes were added,, but I was stunned at how those twenty minutes actually make the film even better and make the story far easier to follow. And there's twenty minutes more that haven't actually been released yet.

I actually saw The Good the Bad and the Ugly for the first time on Friday, which was also my first exposure to a Sergio Leone film. Definitely won't be my last. Smile

I've only seen the "Dollars Trilogy" but I would rank them like so:

1. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.
2. For a Few Dollars More.
3. A Fistful of Dollars.

They're among the only Westerns (my least favorite genre) I like.
