August Hlond (b. 1881, Poland)• Primate of Poland, Cardinal Hlond is known to have relatively liberal views, being a passionate opponent of authoritarianism. A staunch Polish nationalist, he has courted controversy due to anti-semitic stances.
Karl Joseph Schulte (b. 1871, Germany)• Archbishop of Cologne, Cardinal Schulte is a traditionalist conservative and a staunch anti-communist. Despite his background as a German nationalist, he has taken public stances against Chancellor Hugenberg.
Eugène Tisserant (b. 1884, France)• Titular Archbishop of Iconium, Cardinal Tisserant is famed for his scholarly intellect, being also an accomplished polyglot. Conservative in his social views, he is fiercely anti-authoritarianism, having previously spoken on the duty to resist tyrannical regimes.
Alfredo Ildefonso Schuster (b. 1880, Italy)• Archbishop of Milan, Cardinal Schuster is a moderate conservative with a major emphasis on spirituality, believing the Church needs to place pastoral emphasis above all. Though not entirely subservient, Schuster is known for being a reliable supporter of Mussolini.
Maurilio Fossati (b.1876, Italy)• Archbishop of Turin, Cardinal Fossati is another conservative, known for his committed opposition to Fascism and his personal courage and bravery. Fossati has been one of the loudest voices to condemn the tragedy in the Netherlands, calling on Catholic nations to take in refugees.
Eugenio Pacelli (b. 1876, Italy)• Secretary of State under Pius XI, Pacelli is the ultimate diplomat. Vaguely conservative, soft-spoken, pleased to work behind the scenes, Pacelli has bitterly denounced the outbreak of war and is strongly pushing for a diplomatic solution.
Jean-Marie-Rodrigue Villeneuve (b. 1883, Canada)• Archbishop of Québec, Cardinal Villeneuve is an outspoken and media-savvy prelate, having successfully used radio to reach a large audience. An ultra conservative and staunch traditionalist, he is also committed to political neutrality and for the Church to focus on social issues.
