Question as above! I can't find precincts prior to 2012 and I'm stuck! Also feel free to say when was the last for the entire Bay Area? I'm mega curious!!

Probably 1984 since Ronald Reagan won 31.4% of the vote.

Precincts are a poorly defined measure, since the Bay Area has plenty of microprecincts that vote Republican in every election, but as far as municipalities go, Atherton and Hillsborough both voted for Romney. Romney also won the unincorporated portion of Solano County, although he did not win any municipalities in the county. This information can be found in the official Supplement to the Statement of Vote listed on the secretary of state's website for each California election.

IIRC there was a precinct that voted for Bush in 2000 by a single vote.

Actually thinking about it more it was the other way around, Gore won it by one vote.

Bush's father in 1992 is thus probably the answer.

1976 when the city was NOT the furthest left in the state.

Or 1972 when Nixon won 42 % of the vote in San Francisco
